Creating one’s own path in this world.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/unclevanya/666336763/Welcome to my first blog, my first blog’s first entry, and my first blog’s first entry’s first really quite cumbersome sentence. That was fun. I hope the tone of my writing is a bit of a departure from the mood created by the way this blog looks. I am a little goofy when I express myself through the written word but this blog design is so cool I had to use it.

Why I’m writing this blog.

My intention for creating this blog is to explore the philosophy I’ve developed to live my life. Now, I’m no genius. And when people hear the word philosophy it’s generally taken to be a huge intellectual behemoth that only the very few can tackle or truly have any interest in, let alone understand. That’s not what this is going to be about.

Simplicity is something I like. I consider myself to be a minimalist in many areas of life. According to the dictionary the word philosophy can mean something as simple as a rule of life or a system or set of beliefs. Now that’s what I’m talking about! Everyone has a philosophy. Not everyone knows what their philosophy is, or thinks along those lines, but everyone has one.

I enjoy thinking about life. About how it should be lived. About how I can make a positive difference for my family members, my friends, for the world at large. Which brings me to my philosophy and this blog.

My path.

Thought/Word/Deed (TWD) is the path I have created to wend my way through the world. It makes the most sense to me. It makes sense of the world for me. Over the years I have written down my thoughts but I’ve never shared these thoughts with anyone in more than a cursory way. In fact, I’ve been reluctant to do so. I find it difficult to connect with people face to face. My conversations tend to be about surface matters or safe topics. And very rarely will I divulge things about myself.

When I write, though, I find I can be much more expressive, honest, and vulnerable. So this blog is a step in a new direction for me. I’m looking forward to it.

An exploration.

This is going to be an exploration. I will be writing about TWD, my thinking behind it, how it evolved, and about how to apply it to life consciously (we all apply it unconsciously, I’ll explain later). I’ve also developed some approaches to goal setting, self-development, physical training, relationships and relating, and productive prosperity that you may find unique.

I will be posting regularly. I hope to generate some interest and feedback. Please feel free to leave your comments or questions and I will respond, as necessary, to the best of my ability.

(Let me reiterate that this is my first blog. Please allow for a gentle learning curve as I familiarize myself with this medium.)

congratulations, to a first in your life.
one of the secrets of life is SELF EXPRESSION. if suppressed for various reasons, leads to all kinds of ensuing trouble.
Sad to say, many of us do not realize this and hesitate to express through various mediums. Just look around and see all those sad results.

Speaking, writing, painting, singing, movement, meditation- is the ticket/ so we wish you much courage to go ahead.

I like hearing your thoughts. This is going to be an eye opener. The many short and long conversations that we have had were always two sided. Now I get to see what makes you tick! I like that alot and am happy for you. Looking very forward to reading all you have to write about. Deed-
this word is interesting to me.

Thanks everyone for all the kind words. I appreciate that you take an interest in this endeavor and I will do my best to make it an enlightening experience for all. The least you will learn is “what makes me tick” as Catherine put it.

Wow! I identify with some of the things I’ve read here today, though I could never put any of it as eloquently as you have. I’ve bookmarked the index page because I do wish to return, to listen, to learn and maybe sometimes to comment or query.

Thankyou for sharing your philosophy with us, I feel that I will find it stimulating and possibly, just possibly, life-enhancing.

    Hi rollercoasting,

You’re welcome. I’m happy to share. These ideas have made a powerful impact on my life and I enjoy the thought that others can derive benefits from them, as well.

Definitely feel free to comment or query in the future. I try to be as clear as I can while keeping my wordiness to a minimum. Sometimes, however, I’m concerned that I am too succinct and what I mean to say is not what I’m saying. With interaction from people like yourself I have a chance to clarify some points or correct mistakes on my part.

    Cheers!
